First of all when looking for a stroller , make sure it locks when folded and has sturdy locker. I had to buy a stroller on my vacation in Turkey, which did not stay folded and it was really a pain!
You don't need a fancy travel system and you don't want to spend a lot of money for an oversized stroller you will seldom use. Instead, purchase a stroller frame , which has a reasonable price, to put your car seat in to.
Car Seat
Make sure the car seat that you want to buy fits in your backseat. Yes ! You don't want to buy a giant car seat that will fit in your back seat awkwardly. If you have more than one car, buy an extra car seat base so you can transfer the car seat from vehicle to vehicle easily.
The best option for buying a car seat is the convertible ones. What I mean with that is convertible car seat has rear facing weight and a forward facing weight so your little one can remain harnessed longer. Another tip is make sure that car seat that you look for has romovable head and body pillow.
Crib
Unfortunately we had buy a basinet and when my little guy has 4 moths old we had get a crib which is not convertible to the toddler bed. So buy a convertible crib that turns into a toddler bed from a baby crib to save your money. As your little one grows the crib will be used more than a conventional crib.
High Chair
I think, another item that we can't live without is, my little guy's high chair. It provides comfort to him and keep him safe while eating.
